Jorge Plasencia: CEO, República
Jorge A. Plasencia is co-founder, chairman and CEO of República, one of America's leading independent, cross-cultural advertising, digital and communications agencies. Prior to co-founding República in 2006, Jorge served as vice president and operating manager of Univision Radio. Before Univision, Jorge was vice president of Estefan Enterprises, Inc., while there, he played a key role in the management of several international artists, including Gloria Estefan and Shakira. Earlier, Jorge was the first director of Hispanic marketing for the Florida Marlins.
Jorge co-founded Amigos For Kids in 1991, a nonprofit organization supporting underprivileged children and families. He is chairman of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and vice chairman of the Miami Dade College Foundation.
A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Jorge was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young, and CEO of the Year by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
