The Billboard Latin Music Awards, the longest running and most prestigious awards show in the Latin music world, honors the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music, as determined by the actual sales, radio airplay, streaming and social data that informs Billboard’s weekly charts. The Awards show capped off the 24th annual Billboard Latin Music Conference, presented by State Farm in association with Pepsi, which took place April 23 - 25 at the JW Marriot Marquis in Miami, Florida.
Also presented on the show are Billboard's prestigious discretionary awards including Spirit of Hope for humanitarian contributions, the Lifetime Achievement awards and Hall of Fame. The Billboard Latin Music Awards are produced and televised LIVE on Telemundo on April 25, 2013.
