The 2008 Billboard Touring Awards will honor the concert industry's top artists and professionals for the year, based on the Billboard Boxscores chart. Recognition for finalists and awards will be based on actual box office performance between October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008.  The winners will be revealed on Nov. 20, 2008 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

In addition, Billboard will honor individuals who have made a significant impact on the touring industry:

Billboard’s Legend of Live Award recognizes a touring professional who has had a significant and lasting impact on the concert industry.  Billboard’s 2008 Legends of Live honoree is The Allman Brothers Band, who has long been regarded as one of the most compelling and popular live bands in the world. 






Bon Jovi/Philadelphia Soul will receive the 2008 Humanitarian Award
, which recognizes philanthropic efforts within the music industry.





Billboard will present Widespread Panic with the first-ever Road Warrior Award, conceived to recognize the group’s commitment to touring year after year and dedication to the art of live performance. 




Walking With Dinosaurs will receive the Creative Content Award at the 2008
Billboard Touring Conference in New York on Nov. 20. This award goes to a first-time touring production that provides venues live entertainment that is both unique and commercially viable.

Billboard Concert Marketing & Promotion Award

The second annual Billboard Concert Marketing & Promotion Award was given to a sponsorship or promotion that benefited the concert industry at large by stimulating attendance to live events, providing value to fans, and promoting the artist and brands involved. The sponsorship or promotion must achieve its marketing goal in a quantifiable way; and can be a tour title sponsorship, a venue naming rights deal, a touring artist's endorsement deal, a single show sponsor, a festival sponsorship, a multifaceted tour sponsorship integration, or other deal, as long as it pertains to live performance that took place between Jan. and Sept. 2008.

The seven finalists, which were determined by a panel of Billboard editors and industry experts include:
